Receiving Manager [South Africa]


 

· Responsible for managing the Inbound schedule;

· Liaison with the Replenishment department;

· Interaction with Client Admin department on outstanding issues.

Ensure process compliance as per SOP.

Job Description:

INBOUND

  • Liaison with the Client Replenishment team regarding complying with the daily inbound schedule, interact with Client Replenishment team in relation to product quantities, quality, dimensions and volume;
  • Manage TES supervisors on all shifts, to ensure that inbound schedule is followed and GRVs are completed timeously;
  • Responsible for the put away into the PND stations.
  • Liaison with Client Admin department with regards to short receipts, over receipts, dimensions, damages and listed on master schedule.

FINANCIAL

  • Ensure accurate receiving processes are adhered to from a GRV perspective;
  • Highlight risks to Client from a product, packaging and quantity point of view;
  • Adhere to SOP from a Risk-Supplier perspective (Pilferage);
  • Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reports are completed.

PROCESS

  • Sign off and plan next day delivery schedule;
  • Manage the Inbound yard from a Yard Controllers perspective;
  • Ensure timeous process compliance of all documentation received for the day (24 Hours);
  • Check listing of new products and liaise with the Client Replenishment department;
  • Plan staff for Inbound containers and associated volume;
  • Manage productivity as per target set ( Forklift drivers, Receivers, GRV Clerk, Assignment Clerks);
  • Manage RCPTA (Receive To Put Away) KPI;
  • Report on Non-Arrivals;
  • Manage unscheduled deliveries;
  • Assist in solving problems and make informed decisions that affect the service, and productivity of the Receiving and Returns Departments;
  • Communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others, understand material, and provide instructions to all Associates;
  • Develop and maintain consistent set of standards as they apply to work force;
  • Ensure accurate processing of all returns-to-vendors (RTV's), chargebacks, transfers and damages based on Company policies and procedures;
  • Communicate and coordinate with Finance and/or Customer Service as needed;
  • Maintain a complete understanding of current Warehouse Management systems used to track and enter receipts for use in inventory control and accounts payable.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Responsible for Staff Training and Development;
  • Responsible for Succession Planning of the department;
  • Management of leave;
  • Maintain headcounts (as per agreed to schedule with Client);
  • Manage PPE compliance;
  • Responsible for adherence of SHEQ in the department.

Conduct performance reviews, create and monitor development and improvement plans and compensation reviews in coordination with Distribution Centre Management.
