London Borough of Merton secured an overall grade of 'Outstanding' in Ofsted's inspection of Children's Services in March 2022.

We are looking for a Safeguarding in Schools Officer to lead Merton schools in further developing the effectiveness of their safeguarding practices and partnerships.
You will be leading termly forums for Designated Safeguarding Leads, specific and themed training and reviews of safeguarding in schools.
You will work with other safeguarding partners including the LADO, colleagues in Children's Social Care and Early Help.
We can offer you a role within our highly regarded School Improvement team of inspectors and advisers who work successfully in partnership with our schools and alongside colleagues in Special Educational Needs, Early Years and Early Help, Education Welfare, Public Health and the Family Hub.
The balance of your time will be working in schools and with school leaders. Your LA base would be Merton Civic Centre in Morden. We could be flexible about part-time (minimum 0.8) working with the right candidate.
