Maintenance Operations Controller (NJE) [Portugal]


 

Purpose of Position

Coordinate with approved maintenance facilities to promote prompt troubleshooting and to determine an estimated time of completion on all maintenance problems on company aircraft. Track the progression of all maintenance events on aircraft undergoing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

  • Coordinate, monitor and control daily turn around, unscheduled and scheduled aircraft maintenance actions performed by the approved maintenance services centres to ensure that maintenance is completed in a timely and efficient manner with minimum downtime;
  • Provide maintenance support to flight crews to enable timely technical decisions to be made upon possible Aircraft On Ground (AOG);
  • Contact Service Providers to obtain information on progress of all assigned work orders to control release to service date, anticipate any maintenance issues and avoid maintenance overlapping;
  • Maintain the Computerized Maintenance Tracking System work orders with status notes to enable decisions and assure that aircraft are repaired in a timely manner and maintaining Management awareness;
  • Notify all relevant departments (i.e. OCC, Scheduling and Flight Operations) in the event of technical issues i.e. grounded aircraft, which have an impact on the Operation and the Customer;
  • Review and approve maintenance Contract Change Orders to ensure the control of costs associated to work orders;
  • Coordinate in conjunction with Aircraft Spares Parts Coordinator, that required aircraft parts, data and support equipment for ‘grounded’ aircraft are obtained and shipped in a timely manner to minimize downtime;
  • Report and document all activities or events, which potentially have a negative effect on the continuing airworthiness of an aircraft, to the Aircraft Fleet Maintenance Manager and/or Assistant to ensure the appropriate notification to Regulatory Authority;
  • Review aircraft continuing airworthiness records and documentation to ensure compliance with both Internal and Regulatory requirements;
  • Help coordinate the logistics (travel, hotel etc.) required to support Service Centre Technical personnel assigned to respond AOG events."
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in aircraft technical maintenance;
  • Good knowledge and interpretation of EASA regulations and requirements;
  • Aircraft technical and system troubleshooting skills;
  • Basic knowledge of FAA and ICAO regulations and requirements;
  • Fluency in Business English (written and spoken);
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
