Housekeeping Manager

Position Summary
The Housekeeping Manager ensures that all long-term goals for the housekeeping department are met. Manages and directs all activities relating to housekeeping and laundry to maximize revenue, profitability and quality goals of the housekeeping department. This will be done by developing and executing strategies, controlling costs and by providing quality service and products to our guests.
Scope
Reports to the General Manger
Assigns duties to members of staff
Inspects the territory within the resort to ensure it meets the best practice throughout the organization
Develops standards for prospective members of his department and rating the work
Listen to customers’ complaints and ensure that the complaints are addressed efficiently and effectively
Responsible for ensuring dirty laundries are timely and appropriately cleaned
Orders supplies for the housekeeping department
Ensures efficient use of departmental resources
Directs all housekeeping activities
Organizes on-the job training and evaluate its effectiveness
Maintains good relationship with customers and/or clients and suppliers of housekeeping items
Maintains good relationship with managers of other units in the organization
Requirements
Three or more years’ working experience in a similar role at a 5-star hotel
Degree/Diploma in Tourism
Excellent knowledge of English language
A second language (French, German, Russian, or Italian) will be considered as a plus
