A great opportunity has become available for a Senior Electrical Engineer - Operations Management

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Operations Management:

  • Ensure service offerings are in accordance with the service level agreements.
  • Oversee that proposal and costing for new business are accurate
  • Improve operational outputs where applicable
  • Ensure and manage the respond to emergency situations happen in a timely manner
  • Reviewing, establishing and directing any operational activities.

Sales:

  • Provide technical information about services to potential customers
  • Manage all external and internal enquiries received, ensuring that each request is attended to in a timely manner
  • Look for prospective sales and generator leasing leads and look to grow the business

Generator Management:

  • Manage and ensure that monthly generator inspections occur for the 50 generators that we own and/or manage.
  • Ensure that monthly generator management reports for clients are kept up to date and sent out.
  • Ensure that direct reports manage and schedule annual services of generators
  • Oversee all repairs and maintenance to generators
  • Manage that generator failures are attended during normal and after hours
  • Ensure that the schedule of refuelling generators is followed
  • Manage and oversee the arrangement for the acquisition of diesel supplies and that arrangements have been made for delivery thereof
  • Ensure and oversee that emergency and after hours refuelling is attended to

Power Management

  • Draft proposals for potential new clients
  • Project management and management of installation
  • Communication setup for smart electricity metering systems
  • Design of metering hierarchy
  • Investigation of variances on recons and billings
  • Ensure that tariff configuration has taken place
  • Manage the meter procurement process
  • Ensure that all faults and queries are attended to

Reporting on Transformers

  • Manage the monthly process of inspection and reporting of substation and transformers
  • Draft and Review proposals / quotes.
  • Review agreements.
  • Review quotations received before submission to CEO for final approval
  • Arrange and manage maintenance and repair work on transformers
  • Attend to emergency breakdowns of transformers

Staff Management:

  • Manage a team of qualified generator maintenance staff,refuelling staff and drivers
  • Manage 2 Electrical Engineers

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Diplomas or Bachelor's Degrees in Electrical Engineering
  • NQF 7
  • Wireman’s licence Phase 3 advantageous

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience dealing with consultants’, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Technical / Electrical background with Energy Management experience.
  • Hands-on experience working on generators is advantageous
  • Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks
  • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve issues
  • Proven technical experience in a South African infrastructure operation and maintenance environment.
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and training high-performance operational and diverse teams.
  • Knowledge and application of relevant compliance requirements
  • Understanding of system design, operation, and key commercial and business drivers.

We offer Barista produced coffee available all day to all our staff at Claremont.

Normal working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 08h00 until 17h00 with a 45 minute lunch break. The company allows employees, by approval of the direct manager, to work flexi-time between 07h00 and 18h00.

With centrally located and modern offices just across from Cavendish in Claremont, Faircape offers a market-related salary from R80 000 Cost to Company per month. The amount offered will be dependent on qualifications, experience and other market-related factors.
