Job Description
- Provides day-to-day leadership and support to the accounting team including proactive guidance, troubleshooting support, and issue escalation;
- Performs financial analysis; identifies and explains deviations from planned or historical data;
- Establishes and defines the financial closing schedule;
- Performs review of financial master data maintenance performance;
- Reviews and approves account reconciliations;
- Reviews period-close reports and ensures readiness for financial close;
- Verifies and approves journal entries as appropriate;
- Supports recruiting, staffing, training and on boarding processes as appropriate;
- Assists with performance management processes (e.g., goal setting, performance evaluation, etc.); completes performance evaluations for assigned staff;
- Oversees time management processes (e.g., time approval, scheduling, etc.);
- Performs other supervisory responsibilities as appropriate;
- Identifies reporting gaps and develops reports as needed.
The Successful Applicant
- University degree preferably in faculty of economics administrative and social sciences;
- At least 7 years of accounting experience with at least two years of team management experience;
- Proven experience in a similar role in a financial services environment;
- Good command of English (both oral and written);
- Excellent analytical and logical thinking skills with strong awareness to detail;
- Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office programs and other commonly used softwares;
- Strong knowledge of SAP;
- Good organisational skills with ability to work under time pressure;
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external clients;
- Leadership skills including the distribution of work, development of employees, and performance management of a team of employees.
